Lockheed Martin has announced that it has named UM and McCann Erickson to handle their global media and advertising duties.

Located in Bethesda, Maryland, Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs approximately 116,000 people worldwide. Principally engaged in research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology, the Corporation’s net sales for 2012 were $47.2 billion.

“This is a perfect example of the strength of cross-agency collaboration,” said Sarah Personette, U.S. President, UM. “We are thrilled to partner with McCann on the Lockheed Martin portfolio of business and look forward to using our insights, data and analytics to build a successful planning and buying strategy to support Lockheed Martin’s business goals.”

According to Nielsen, last year Lockheed Martin spent nearly $4 million in measured media, not including internet marketing.  Other finalists in the review were Arnold and Doremus.
