UM has named Eileen Kiernan global chief marketing officer, a new role at the unit of Interpublic Mediabrands.
Kiernan was most recently evp of human experience strategy at MediaVest, where she had oversight of developing the creative space between insights and planning. She also spent time at NBCUniversal as vp of integrated sales marketing and led intergrated marketing solutions at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. It was there that she worked with UM global CEO Jacki Kelley, who was evp of media sales and who oversaw the formation of the company’s integrated media team.
At UM, Kiernan has global responsibility for positioning the UM brand and will collaborate on product offerings with execs running various disciplines. She will also manage UM’s press activities, website development, agency social media strategy and internal communications as well as work with UM human resources on agency training initiatives.
