In particular, Jim had a significant impact on the television and broadcast industry in the UK, as he launched many daring business initiatives at Sky TV, Channel 5 and ITV.

Jim Hytner joined UM as President of EMEA in the fall of 2009, with a focus on expanding the UM presence throughout Europe and the Middle East. He will use his past experience in the media world to bring attention to the UM name, and receive additional marketing exposure for clients.
At Top Up TV, where Jim was the Commercial Director from 2008-2009, he launched a new media platform throughout the UK that was equipped with premium pay and on demand services. Jim was responsible for content acquisition as well as monitoring customer attainment and retention. He also has a deep understanding of what captures consumer attention in this ubiquitous marketing environment.
Prior to that, Jim was Marketing Director for UK Bank and in charge of the Barclays brand group-wide, and thus responsible for UK Banking marketing strategy and activity. While at Barclays, Jim developed a new positioning for the brand, which resulted in Barclays assuming 1st place (up from 7th) for customer consideration. Previously, Jim worked with ITV for three years as the Marketing Director for the market strategy for the media outlet. He increased viewer and advertiser awareness for ITV1 and ITV2 through a radical and effective brand overhaul.
